Acoustic emission (AE) is popular non-destructive examination technique but it is still new in Vietnam. With consultation of CISR2, Vedan company has decided to use this technique for examining their ammoniac tank.
Acoustic emission examination bases on listening sounds emits from cracking of pressure vessels while those are being pressurized. These sounds (echoes) are record by system of probes sealed on the wall of pressure vessel and then, are analyzed by a software on computer "lively".
